WHY HOTELS ASK FOR THIS
Where direct bookings are actually lost
  • NOBODY LOOKS AT ALL THE PARTS TOGETHER
The ads agency reports on clicks. The developer says the site is running. Whoever handles social shows reach. Each one is fine on its own terms.

The review looks at all of it as one, including the parts nobody currently owns.
  • THE LOSSES ARE SMALL AND SPREAD OUT
A slow reply to an enquiry. A room page that explains nothing. A booking step that loses people on a phone.

Each one looks minor on its own. Together they cost a season.
  • THE BIGGEST LOSS IS NOT ALWAYS THE OBVIOUS ONE
Everyone talks about the ad budget. But if the booking form loses half the guests on a phone, more traffic just means paying more for the same result.

The review shows which problem costs the most, so you fix that one first.
  • YOU GET THE PLAN WITH PRICES ATTACHED
What each fix is worth in bookings, what to do first, and what to leave alone for now.

You choose who does the work: your team, your contractors, or me.
WHAT I DO
You get one written plan: what each loss costs you, what to fix first, and what to leave alone for now.

I go through the whole path a guest takes, from the first search to the confirmed booking, and find where you are losing people along the way.
  • WHERE YOUR AD BUDGET GOES

I look at what your campaigns actually buy: which of them bring enquiries and bookings, and which bring traffic that was never going to book.

You see what the spend is producing, campaign by campaign.
    1
  • WHERE GUESTS DROP OFF ON THE WEBSITE

I go through the site the way a guest does, on a phone and on a desktop, from the first page to the booking form.

The places where people stop are usually the same few, and they are usually fixable in days.
    2
  • WHETHER NEW GUESTS CAN FIND YOU AT ALL

Returning guests find you by name.

I check whether anyone else does: what you show up for in search, and what AI assistants say when someone asks for a recommendation.
    3
  • WHETHER YOUR OFFER IS UNDERSTANDABLE

I check how rooms, packages, programmes and prices are explained, and whether a guest can tell the difference between one option and another.

This is where the higher categories are usually lost.
    4
  • WHAT HAPPENS TO PEOPLE WHO ENQUIRE

I send enquiries myself and see what comes back, and how long it takes. I also check whether guest contacts are kept anywhere and used afterwards.

In one hotel, 97% of online enquiries went unanswered within 24 hours.
    5
  • WHETHER YOU CAN TRUST YOUR NUMBERS

Most hotels have analytics installed, and most of it measures nothing useful.

I check what is being counted, what is missing, and what has to be set up before any decision can be based on it.
    6

Nothing is guessed and nothing is billed by the hour. You know what you get and when you get it.

How the Blueprint works
YOU GIVE ME ACCESS
Analytics, ad accounts, booking data and whatever reporting your contractors send you. If some of it is missing or was never set up, that is already part of the finding.
I GO THROUGH EVERYTHING MYSELF
I book as a guest would, send enquiries, open the site on a phone, read what your competitors offer and check what search and AI say about you.
Most of what matters is found this way, not in the reports.
YOU GET THE WRITTEN PLAN
Every loss, what it costs you, and the order to fix them in. Plain language, no jargon, nothing you need me to interpret.
WE GO THROUGH IT TOGETHER
A call to answer questions and agree what happens next. You implement it with your team, with your contractors, or with me. All three are fine.

Timeline and price

Timeline

Timeline

The plan is ready within 14 working days of getting access. Allow about three weeks from the day we agree to start.

What I need from you: access to analytics, ad accounts and booking data, and around an hour of your time in total.
Investment
What it costs
€1,300 to €1,600. Fixed, agreed before anything starts.
The final figure depends on:
  • How many paid channels are running
  • How complex the website and booking flow are
  • How much of your data is already set up
One payment, one project. Nothing ongoing, and no obligation to work with me afterwards.

MARKETING FOR BOUTIQUE
AND WELLNESS HOTELS
I have worked in digital marketing since 2002. Paid media, search, website conversion and commercial strategy.

I have worked with hotels since 2015. Today they are my main focus: independent boutique and wellness properties, retreats, countryside hotels and small luxury stays. Places with an idea behind them.

Before hotels I spent years with medical clinics in several countries. That is where I learned how people buy something expensive that they think about for weeks. A wellness or medical programme is chosen the same way.

My work starts with what a hotel already has: its data, its reviews, its existing demand. Then I build campaigns, pages and content around one commercial goal at a time, and measure that goal on its own.

I take on a small number of projects, so each one gets proper attention.

Blueprint FAQ
General & Strategic Questions
Q:
What is the Direct Booking Blueprint?
A:
A review of everything that stands between a guest finding you and paying you: your campaigns, your website, your booking flow, your enquiries and your guest data.

You get a written plan with the losses ranked by what they cost, and a call to go through it. Fixed price, agreed before we start.
Q:
We already work with an agency or internal marketing team. Is this still relevant?
A:
Usually more useful, not less.
Each contractor reports on their own part, and each part can look fine. The review looks at all of it together, including whatever nobody currently owns.
Your team keeps doing the work. The plan tells them what to do first.
Q:
Who is The Blueprint best suited for?
A:
Independent hotels that already spend on marketing and are not sure what it is producing. Typically 20 to 100 rooms, owner or GM making the decisions, someone already running campaigns and a website.
It is less useful if you have no traffic and no marketing activity at all. In that case there is nothing yet to review.
Q:
My hotel is not 5-star. Is this service too advanced for us?
A:
No. The star rating does not change anything.
What matters is whether guests are being lost between finding you and paying you, and that happens at every level. Smaller properties often have more to gain, because nobody has looked at this before.
Q:
What kind of outcomes should we expect from the Blueprint?
A:
You will know which of your losses costs the most, what each one is worth, and what to do first.
What you will not get is a promise of a specific increase in bookings. That depends on what you do with the plan, and anyone promising a number before seeing your data is guessing.
Q:
Is the Blueprint a one-time engagement?
A:
Yes.
The Blueprint is a standalone diagnostic engagement.
Following delivery, you may implement internally, continue with existing partners, or discuss structured ongoing support if appropriate. There is no obligation to proceed further.
Process & Delivery Questions
Q:
How is the Blueprint delivered?
A:
A written document, plus a call to go through it and answer your questions. Written in plain language, so you can hand it to your team or your contractors without needing me to explain it.
Q:
How long does the process take from start to finish?
A:
The plan is ready within 14 working days of getting access. Allow about three weeks from the day we agree to start.
Q:
What information do you need from us?
A:
Access to your analytics, advertising accounts and booking data, and about an hour of your time in total. If some of it does not exist, that is part of the finding.
Q:
What happens after the Blueprint?
A:
After the review, you will have:
  • A clear understanding of your current direct booking performance
  • A prioritised roadmap for the next 90 days
  • Defined next steps
You may choose to implement internally, through existing partners, or continue working together under a structured performance mandate.
There is no obligation.
Q:
What if the review finds nothing serious?
A:
Then it says so, and the document explains what is already working and why.
It is a legitimate outcome, and worth knowing. Most hotels spend the next season assuming something is broken and quietly looking for it.

Being told the marketing is in decent shape lets you stop looking and spend the attention elsewhere.
Q:
What if our analytics are a mess or were never set up?
A:
That is normal, and it is one of the findings rather than an obstacle.

Most independent hotels have analytics installed and measuring very little of use. I work with what exists, and the plan tells you what needs to be in place before any decision can rely on numbers. Often that is the first item on the list, because everything after it depends on it.
Q:
Do you implement the recommendations yourself?
A:
I can, and that is separate work agreed separately. There is no obligation, and the plan is written to be usable without me.
Q:
How is our data kept confidential?
A:
Access is used only for the review and returned or removed when it is finished. Your name and figures are never published without written permission. All the examples on this site are anonymised for that reason.
Pricing & Call Policy
Q:
Why is the Blueprint paid?
A:
Because it is real work, not a sales meeting. Three to five days of going through your accounts, your website and your booking flow, ending in a document you can act on.

Free audits exist to sell something bigger. This one is complete in itself, and you are free to walk away with the plan and never speak to me again.
Q:
Do you offer a free audit or free strategy session?
A:
No. What I do offer is a call before you commit to anything, where we go through your situation and I tell you whether the Blueprint would find enough to be worth the money. If I think it would not, I will say so.
Q:
Is there an introductory call before committing?
A:
Yes, and it costs nothing. Thirty minutes to understand where the hotel is now, what is already running, and what you are trying to change. Nobody pays for anything on that call.
Q:
What does the Blueprint cost?
A:
The Direct Booking Blueprint is typically priced between €1,300 and €1,600, depending on the complexity of your digital infrastructure and scope of review.
The final fee is confirmed after reviewing your intake form and is provided as a fixed project quote before any work begins.
There are no hidden costs.
Q:
How is the final fee decided?
A:
Three things: how many paid channels are running, how complex the website and booking flow are, and how much of your data is already set up.
You get the exact figure after the first call, before you commit to anything.
